I know there are getting stronger guides out there... and I'm only around 5k-ish... I did want to make one of these guides by describing the system I use (or plan to use). This is not a direct copy of any of the other guides available, but some similarities will certainly exist.
There are a number of categories of study. Personally I use a whole lot of book learning, a whole lot of watching games, and just a little playing. I certainly want to play more often, but a number of things get in the way (mood, work, family, etc). Thus I'm often left with books, pro games, and high-dan games.
This is actually a number of guides devoted to each level of study. The first one created, and likely the most well-rounded, is my (self) Game Analysis guide. This is (approximately) the process I use when reviewing my own games - though my own skill and the type of game may mean that one or more points are ignored... (You'll have a tough time reviewing joseki when playing against someone like KGS: BadStyle)
